HOW THIS MAP WORKS

One way to break Lahore into regions.

The map starts with individual street blocks. Only blocks that touch can be joined. It repeatedly combines the strongest neighbouring match, creating the nested 90, 50, 35 and 10 region views.

Each match considers how easily the shared edge can be crossed; major roads, railways and water barriers; street layout; building density and size; commercial land and mapped destinations; satellite-observed vegetation and built surface; and sampled walking and driving reach.
